Hands up! Anyone else have a Halloween wedding?
My husband and I did! Well, for our second wedding, but that’s another story.
Seven years ago on Halloween, my husband
It was a day to remember! I love, and I mean LOVE, social history and THIS was the closest I’d ever get to stepping into a time machine back to the 1920s-30s, where jazz was hot, the lingo was cool and liberated ladies with their shorter skirts were the bees’ knees!
Although we were incredibly blessed in SO MANY ways as the entire day went off without a hitch, planning the wedding while working, renovating a house and moving, left me feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
The venue, décor, food, signature drinks, band, dancing, photo booth…everything HAD to align with my vision.
Right down to the nail polish on my toes, the servers’ attire, and subjecting my husband to doing a Charleston flash mob dance. My poor husband is still traumatized!
Many of us get caught up in this stress – wanting a Pinterest-perfect wedding at all costs.
Well, I’ll be honest with you – it cost me dearly in the end…
Queue the dramatic music.
I’m leaving you with that cliff-hanger…
More in my next post!
Be Bodacious. Be You.
Update: I've transcended my trauma and have learned to dance the Charleston like a boss.
